That One 08

The Setting: Tuesday, October 7, 2008. The presidential debate.
John McCain: "“By the way my friends, I know you grow a little weary of this back and forth. There was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate – loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies,” Mr. McCain said, winding up to it. “You know who voted for it – you might never know?”
He then pointed at his rival, Senator Barack Obama, and answered his own question: "That one." He continued, “You know who voted against it? Me.”"

We all know Obama will win. Whoopee! that proves Americans are not racist and Americans have finally got their heads out of their asses. Wrong! Obama will do nothing different. He will blame it all on Bush. Clinton did the same when he succeeded Bush I. yes, Clinton balanced the budget. Who cares? We live in a Good Cop/bad Cop Land. When one party falls out of favor, the other one enters and does mostly the same things. Clinton rushed in saying that he was for universal health care (that went away), gay rights (don't ask, don't tell), and spreading "Democracy" (bombing Yugoslavia to Hell on purpose). Then, Clinton turned into the "bad guy" and we got Bush. History - as long as civilization has existed - shows that nothing much really changes. We are still working 40 hours a week when we only need to work 3 months a year. But the newest "democratic" system (Capitalism) will not allow that because they have convinced us that we need MORE. We need "convenience." That means microwave ovens, fast food, cable TV, owning our own homes, big cars - any car as long as we don't have to ride in icky mass transit buses, entertainment, incessant hospital visits, pristine white teeth, drugs to ease our oh-so hard lives, make up and depilatories, fashionable clothing, brand name coffees and every other commodity, massages and spa treatments, "getting away" vacations, air conditioning in places White people weren't meant to live, heat in places humans were not supposed to live, cell phones and IMs so we can talk to each other for stupid reasons, computers so that we can shop rather than learn about our sicknesses, TVs so that we can chuckle when we are told to chuckle from the laugh tracks, drama TV shows that condense supposedly real human drama into one hour episodes, movies that are violent with blood and guts even though sex is unacceptable. Shall I go on?

Anyone who believes in the "American Political Process" is a dupe. The rich control everything as they have since "civilization" began. If you think rich people think like you, then you are an idiot.

Nader is not rich, but he has money because he sued the corporations that tried to rape him. Admittedly, he still believes in small business since his father was a small businessman. But, that man has done more for the benefit of Americans - who do not deserve anything as far as I am concerned - than any man alive.

You do not know anything about America until you know Nader, Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, and a handful of others. Until you realize that you are serfs, just like in the Middle Ages, you are just pawns in an imperial game. You can watch the Daily Show or Bill Maher, but all you will get from the is Democratism. Democrats are CAPITALISTS just like Republicans.

Please note that the Democrats - especially Clinton - were all for NAFTA,and they knew that NAFTA would force Mexicans and Central Americans to flee to America in search of jobs. They loved the idea since 1) Business could get free labor, and 2) they could then wage war on them. Both parties love non-issues.

They latch onto non-issues: Anti-abortion, prayer in schools, womens'rights, gay rights/marriage, illegal immigrants, etc. They want you to vote on morality RATHER THAN what REALLY matters.

What matters? Do you live in a "democracy"? Nope. You live in a Capitalist plutocracy. Do you have to work every day when it is unnecessary? Does America need to wage war against another country every year? nope.

Do you need your own new home, SUV, fast food, electronic gadgets, TV? Nope.

If you think that you need this stuff, then you are like the serfs in the Middle Ages who took anything that the rich gave them and were grateful. Back then, it was God Bless Royalty, now it is God Bless America. kevin
